Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - January 6
Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Annnd we’re back! Told you it was all about the optimism. Put 2 slightly different lineups in last night and both smashed 300.
Blog picks: Boogie, Jimmy, and Clarkson – 158.5 points combined.
Let’s keep the good vibes rolling tonight of a full slate. 3 featured picks coming in hot:
SF LeBron James $9.5K
Listen LeBron is clearly not the locked in, stone cold 60-70 fantasy point per night monster he used to be. He doesn’t have the night-to-night upside of a Steph or Anthony Davis or Russell Westbrook. But he’s still LeBron James, he still puts up at least 40 fantasy points a night in his sleep, and he still has a really good shot of absolutely going off anytime he steps on the court. Frankly he’s due for one of those games, and while I wouldn’t spend over $10K on him with the other options out there, 9.5K is basically a gimme for me. SF is a tough position to fill and anytime you can get the best player in the world for what’s gotta be his lowest price ever is a good move.
PG Kemba Walker $8.2K
Everybody who reads these on a weekly basis knows Kemba is “my guy” – no, not the guy who always wins me money, the guy who I can never ever pick on the right night. Everyone has one. Mine is Kemba. But everyone also knows that I’m A Man (Mike Gundy Voice) and if something isn’t going my way, I step right up and double down on it. Batum out tonight, Jeremy Lamb doubtful tonight, Al Jefferson out forever, the Suns are in SHAMBLES – looks like the perfect time for a Kemba show.
SG Victor Oladipo $5.8K
I don’t follow the Orlando Magic that closely so I don’t know what the reasoning for this is, but after a great year last year, Oladipo has been coming off the bench this season. They finally moved him to the starting lineup last game, and would you look at that – big fantasy game. He’s starting again tonight, and with Elfrid Payton out he’ll be running the point with all the minutes he can handle. Classic case of the price not adjusting yet to match his opportunity and upside, so time to capitalize on a bargain 5.8K.
Other guys to consider: I’ve been trying to switch up my strategy a little bit and not pay up for the top priced guys, but if you are, keep an eye on the Durant news – if he sits out again, Westbrook is locked in as the top play of the night. I also love Anthony Davis and John Wall are some pricier options, and in the mid range I like guys like Gallo, DeAndre Jordan and Thad Young. For some bargain basement guys – Aldridge is out tonight so take a look at either D West or Diaw – Shane Larkin sucked it up last game but is still starting and running the point for the Nets – or, his teammate Bogdanovic has been putting up solid games – and finally, Linsanity makes for a great play with Batum and Lamb out.
…
That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
